Frequently Asked Questions

Is my uploaded QR image saved or sent to a server?

No. The scanner uses browser-native canvas image processing and pure client-side JavaScript. Your photos, screenshots, and camera stream never leave your local device.

What types of QR codes can this tool decode?

The scanner recognizes website URLs, Wi-Fi network credentials, vCard contact cards, email addresses (mailto), phone numbers (tel), SMS messages, WhatsApp chats, and plain text.

Why does my camera scan fail or ask for permission?

Web browsers require explicit user permission to activate your webcam or phone camera. If permission was declined or your device lacks a camera, simply use the "Upload or Drag Image" tab to upload a photo instead.

Can I check if a scanned QR code can be redirected?

Yes! After scanning, click the "Can I Change This QR?" button to analyze whether the destination is a dynamic redirect or a fixed static URL.
